This work consists of hand written and painted zines which were then photographed and collaged together in InDesign, along with photographs of meaningful objects. As societies progressed, the form of identification has changed over the years to take the form of a passport that we use today. With technological and societal advancements, the form of a passport as identification has evolved immensely and will surely continue to change in the coming years as world travel becomes more common and hopefully more accessible. Since their creation, passports have become a way for people to identify themselves, not only personally but also within their own society and other foreign societies as well. Even the notion of carrying a passport or being a passport holder can reveal information about a person and the society they might live in. The research will be analyzed, compared, and compiled in the form of a book, documenting and illustrating the evolution of the passport. Further research will be used to design a re-imagined version of a passport that could theoretically be an option in the future. This research could be significant because the design of one’s passport can influence how people define themselves and what people feel as a sense of self while traveling and experiencing new cultures. With this project, I hope to help people better understand the context of a passport and how the different forms and functions of it can influence their own expression of identity as they travel throughout their lives. Furthermore, I hope to investigate what the future might hold by breaking the perception of what a traditional passport looks like in the past, present, and future. I wanted to create a large project to show that myself and many others are not alone with these issues, regardless if they're exclusively about sexuality. Discovery and involvement are the key goals of these brochures informing readers about ways to use the space, volunteer, and learn more about nature. The next step of viewing the brochures should be to visit the parks. This may entail an activity as simple as walking, or as complex as attending a seasonal forest maintenance session. Chicagoans should be able to enjoy the green spaces around them and want to preserve and care for them. At the same time, they should feel more confident with their community knowledge and understand what is around them. They tell stories that digital works will never be able to do in the same way. Blue Porcelain in particular has a rich cultural history. It seems to be ubiquitous and universally admired as an object of luxury. The often feature very intricate patterns and motifs indicate that the object must have intrinsic value because a lot of time was spent creating it; time equals value. This project aims to take something that is worthless and give it value though time and materials, and at the same time tell a story about the people in my life and therefore myself as well.&nbsp; Different cultures adorn their porcelain with different motifs. Japan has cherry blossoms and phoenix. Motifs. Holland has sailboats and lighthouses. China has intricate patterns and willow trees and so on. Blue Porcelain is a narrative about connections. What is valuable to me and the people in my life? I asked the people in my life to send me an object of theirs that is worthless. Something they could have easily thrown away. I painted each piece of junk is in-expensively painted with spray-paint and acrylic paint to create an abstract adaptation of blue porcelain designs. I painted each object with motifs or symbols that are representative of the person that gave me the object. The goal is for the object to develop a triple identity. Its own identity as a piece of junk with history, a piece of identity as the motifs that&nbsp;represent its owner, and a piece of identity that belongs to me because I put my time and hand into it. I used to be a Studio Art major but quickly realized I wanted to work with a prompt and with people. Design is more concrete. However, it requires you to spend a lot of time on the computer. That’s why, when given the opportunity to do anything I wanted for this project, I wanted to work in the real world again. I wanted my Capstone to be about the real people in my life that get my head out of the digital universe that we all live in now. During Covid I became obsessed with antiquing and, in retrospect, I think I was trying to immerse myself in the past, in objects that existed before computers. When researching this topic I found it was unfair to blanket every individuals experience into one summarized blurb of events so I decided to dive deeper by focusing on an anonymous persons life. Blink, the code name for the character, is a 24 year old woman who explains her life events as they come to her mind. This is symbolic to her because when experiencing a panic attack set off by her anxiety or past trauma she gets a flood of thoughts out of order. The original concept of this project starts with designing things/objects that others can feel related to, and continue with that idea I decided to use the public transport system since I was inspired by it. After research and a few modifications, I ended up with the final version of this project, which includes a hand-drawn city neighborhood map, transit system map, iconic landmarks, and lists of things to do in that city. The targeted audience for this project is mainly visitors and people who are planning on traveling but is having a hard time deciding where they want to go, and the posters can provide them with informations with method of transportation as well as activities that are recommended to do during their time in the cities. The artist speaks because the artist listened. What we use to create is based on the emotional connections we have to our knowledge of things. I dabble in many mediums of creation for I am always looking for newness and opportunities to step into new realms of knowledge. That's why it seems to express death as scary and negative. Through my experiences of death, I showed a new direction for positive death rather than typical negative death by comparing it to a dot. Because humans must die, those deaths become our life, and our life exists within the frame of time. I think of this as the same thing as points coming together to form a line and lines coming together to form a shape. If a single point represents death, then death gathers to create a line, which represents life, and human existence in time is analogous to the collecting of lines to make a shape. When I am asked what death is, many people say that death is what they no longer see. If the thing that cannot be seen is death, I believe that we who live life in time are always dying.
